Problems w/ Rancher AT's???
Honda sent me a recall for this problem, it seems there is a programing error in the ECM that will cause this. The way they describe the problem is if you drop your speed to less than 8km/hr and speeding up again without coming to a complete stop, the machine will be left in a higher gear . It will eventually damage the clutch if the ECM is not replaced, so replacing the ECM is the only fix for this problem.

Problems w/ Rancher AT's???
I think it will fix it. I had my ECM changed a while back and it ran really good for a while. I noticed it was ******* a little lately and I took it back in to be looked at and he said the clutch was shot. The mechanic said the clutch must have been close to being wore down when he changed the ECM before. He said the new ECM must have finished the clutch off. I am waiting to get mine back within the next few days. I am pretty anxious for it. It was a blast when I first had the ECM changed

Problems w/ Rancher AT's???
The only problem I had with mine was a torn lower cv boot. The reason I bring this up is that the brush covers for the AT exposes A LOT of the boot when making hard right/left turns. I compared the exposure to my old 2003 rancher and it had much more coverage. This is a small thing but it had been broken for about a month so I ruined the bearing. Luckily, honda warranteed it.

But when i slow down , near 5 mph or so, and try to speed up, it just seems like it is slipping. But if you let it almost come to a stop, you can hear it go into first, then it is ok and goes fine. Is it normal for it to act this way? It's like it does not want to downshift to first at this speed. I can give it gas, but it just does not want to get going. it has about 1200 miles on it, and it's a 2004.
