Hi ,Im 14 and own a semi built blaster, and am hoping to sell it this spring because it is too slow.I am leaning towards the 250r because I go on trails and plan to start racing. Is that a good idea. These are the questions I have about a 250r.wer like.could What is the power like?could I handle?I only have about $2800 to spend.Any opinions are appreciated.

The power of a 250R can depend on a lot of things, like, what kind of reeds are in in? What pipe? carb?, etc. It can grunt off the bottom like mine does, or it can be piped for top end scream. It all depends on how it is setup.
As far as getting a good one for $2800, good luck. A good one goes for a lot more than that most places.
Have you ridden one? Sure you want one? Ride one first. See if it's the machine you want.

Where I race, Blasters don't run in the same class as 250R's. Although, I think a Blaster can beat a 250R depending on the rider, it is just harder to do with a Blaster. What I am trying to say is, if you haven't raced before, you will most likely be racing against much more experienced riders if you buy a 250R and race it. I guess if I were you, I would race the Blaster for a season, have fun, then move up.

A Blaster would have to have a sh*t load of mods to even come close to a stock 250R and if they were running anywhere that handling was important (MX or XC)you couldn't modify a Blaster enough to keep up with a 250R. Assuming that the guy on the 250R can ride. The Blaster is an economical, and fast for the money quad, and is a good quad on the trails for fun riding, but it is not in the same class with a 250R!

I just found out that the nearest track is an MRA track and to race a Quad in MRA you must be 16.I have to wait 2 years.By the time I start racing I will feel cramped on the blaster.
