Why would you want a heavier flywheel on a 4 stroke?

Heavier flywheel for woods type riding, where you may be lugging around much more than revving it hard. Lightened flywheels for quicker revving, but much easier to stall.

I understand the purpose of them, just not on a 4 stroke where you can lug them around all day in stock form. Anyway, I'm sure a competent machinist could add some weight to your stock flywheel if nobody makes them.

The weight kit for the xr 400 is supposed to work. Call the Honda shop and ask about that kit.

i like how the lightened one worked for a NON-high revving motor. on my 426, my bike was slower while powershifting during drags. how, at lower rpms and in the lower gears, i really likedd the lightened flywheel. however, i mainly drag race and i figure if i lost a couple bike lengths by lightening one, i may add one or so by adding weights. it was just a thought, i really don't know.
