It doesn't cost much more than the piece of crap K&N w/outerware. Unless you spend the money for a good adapter or bolt it up directly to the carb dirt and dust are gettin' by at the base of the filter(unless you use grease). So I'd say it costs about the same..........IMO

Personally, I've never understood the reasoning behind filtering lids. If you run a K&N Filter with a pre-filter, whats the point? Seems like a very expensive way to keep the inside of the airbox clean.

Unless you are saying that you dont need a K&N pre-filter (which are only about $15 bucks) - then the math still wouldnt work out.

Stock replacement K&N is what, $50? Doesn't fit all that well. Should purchase the billet adapter with K&N that fits it. What are those, $75 or more? + Outerware, $15= $90. One EHS lid + stock filter=$90. Pretty close to the same or is the same depending on which route you chose.

i got the complete kit cause when i wash it dont want water getting in. and its always nice to have a extra closed lid laying around. i use a K&n with outerwears and the ehs lid.
