It must really be eating at you since the Raptor came out. Maybe someone will agree with you so you can go out and give your ride a hug.

It does not matter if it's 50 pounds heavier. Yesterday I had the Raptor out on an MX track. My buddy, who rides dirk bikes mostly but also can ride the heck out of the quads and weighs about a buck 20 when wet, was on my 400ex. He started jumping a couple of doubles and table tops, while I was over watching wondering if I could make it on the Raptor. After some taunting from my buddy I strated to let it rip. The Raptor flies in the air. I actually begin to land way down on the landing ramp, effortlessly I might add. Afterward i got back on the 400ex and realized how easy ewverything is on the Raptor. I am not knocking the 400ex...less than a month ago I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread when on an MX track. Of course this is just my opinion...try to get on a Raptor for a ride...you would love it. That's the only way you'll know that I am not BSing you.

Unfortunately i live in California, the raptors are not here yet, but when they do arrive i WILL ride my buddies Raptor. Everyone here is extremely anxious to ride and see a Raptor. Especially the ones with one on order.

I got their $750 ($650 at the time) set of fronts. They are supposed to offer a little more travel than stock. I am not aware of any better set they offer for the front...

On the rear I had them do what they call their SCC conversion $450 - which is also supposed to offer a little more travel than stock. When I received it back, it was approx 1/4" longer than stock, I don't know what that translates to at the rear tires though...(I have 2 rear shocks, I sent one off, kept the other stock, so I was able to directly compare them)

What else would you like to know?

Okay, yes the Raptor has more horses than the 400ex. But is it all that bad? Think about it, a Raptor will never be santioned to be able to run in a atv mx race. So what is left? Hare scrambles, and dune riding to the best of my knowledge. It will be the fastest and best suspended quad in both the dunes and the hare scrambles. But i can't wait for a shootout between a 440ex and a Raptor. A 440ex will put out 42 horses when properly setup. Yeah, it'll cost you more to bring it to this level when you add the mods to the base price of a 400, but I think they will be neck and neck. I'm staying with Honda. I don't care if it costs me 2 grand to stay with a Raptor, you just can't beat the letters H-O-N-D-A on the side of your tank.

45hp out of 660cc! ha ha, that is almost sad, they could of had a 426 and have the same power. that is for the OLD 426. The new 426 has Titanium valves and springs, which means quicker revving and higher revving power.

Just so you all know, a new XR650 has 55hp stock, i think a 650ex would be about the best quad since the Quadzilla. except honda would screw it up and put in the old 650, like any good quad engine i guess.

my opinion is this is the same thing that happened like 13yrs ago. with the banshee and the 250r. the banshee with 2 cylinders 2 carbs and the single cylindered 250r. what was the better one? thats what i thought.

and my opinion on the raptor is that its got around the same power till top speed. and the cc componsation from the raptor is used to turn the bigger gear to get the ex in topp speed by 5-10mph

and if the ex dont have the same power slap a 440 kit in it and it sure will then

i no ill definatly but an ex over a raptor this spring!!!!
