450R 2-stroke?!!?
Yah I thought it odd myself seing how there is a ban being put on 2-strokes in 2006, but I was just making sure that nobody had any proof of it because if so..i'd wanna see and know about it because that thing would be crazy. But i also doubt that honda would spend all the time and money for a model that could only be out 1 year.

I don't think there is a "ban" on 2 strokes, If I remember correctly, 2006 will bring stricter emission control. Instead of dumping money into something like developing a clean burning 2 stroke, every manufacturer is going 4 stroke. Why? I don't really know. Probably has something to do with money, time, and the fact that thumpers are outselling 2 strokes, so why would they invest money in a clean burning ringdinger when they already have a solution(or so they think). If someone could produce a 2 stroke that will be more emission friendly, than it could see production, but I just don't see it happening. However, didn't Honda build some big bore 2 stroke that was supposed to burn cleaner than a 4 stroke that they raced in Baja? Anyway, back to the original question, no Honda will not build a 450 2 stroke in the near future.

Exactly, from what I have gathered there is no ban on 2-strokes just an emmisions requirement for all bikes. Even some 4-strokes will have to be changed to still be produced.
This is more of wanting then an assumption, but I would think that one of the companies will come out with some sort of 2-stroke quad after a few years when new technological ideas are leveled out a bit. That would sure be something different to have 250 MXers again. Only if.
I know 2-stroke dirtbike's are getting a lot of R&D money still, especially this years Honda 2-strokes. So they will around for some time. But I don't know if restictions are put on them because they are track bikes or not?

I doubt that they would make both, a 450r four stroke and a 450r 2 stroke And since theye are discontinuing 2 strokes I doubt that they are going to make a 450r. Ehhh you never know tho, Honda might now how good there 250r was and want to make another better 250r for the last year of 2 strokes. You wont know untill it comes out.

hah, a simple "no probly not" would have done fine, but i guess about a full page of explinations also gets the point across ...but its good to know the truth on the ban because I was kinda pi$$ed when i heard 2 strokes were out because im not sure there is anything i like more than the sound of a piped banshee...I just hope Yamaha does tune the exhaust because it would be a wicked shame if the banshee just left...
