Instead of dumping money into something like developing a clean burning 2 stroke, every manufacturer is going 4 stroke. Why? I don't really know. Probably has something to do with money, time, and the fact that thumpers are outselling 2 strokes, so why would they invest money in a clean burning ringdinger when they already have a solution(or so they think). If someone could produce a 2 stroke that will be more emission friendly, than it could see production, but I just don't see it happening. However, didn't Honda build some big bore 2 stroke that was supposed to burn cleaner than a 4 stroke that they raced in Baja? Anyway, back to the original question, no Honda will not build a 450 2 stroke in the near future.

i don't think Yamaha could ever come out with a 4 stroke that could replace the banshee, even if they did put a twin cylinder 4 stroke engine in a banshee frame i don't think i would call it a banshee, same as i couldn't see a blaster still being called a blaster with a 4 stroke engine in it.

the banshee is done in 2006 with no plans to make it 4 stroke. The blaster however is being made 4 stroke.

Yeah the banshee has a great sound and is and will be like no other. And a twin 4stroke engine would be dumb. On the other hand the blaster being made 4stroke makes me happy. the engine in the blaster is the biggest hunk of crap. I cant wait till its gone.

I doubt it as well, but, don't count out 2-strokes yet. The snowmobile and outboard industry are coming out with some incredible 2 strokes, light, inexpensive to build, and low emissions. The new Evinrude outboard apparently has lower emissions than most the 4 strokes. Yamaha may yet regret the fact that they've bet the farm on 4 strokes in the snowmobile industry and no one else is following suit as they've got the 2 strokers to run clean enough.
Considering the weight reduction, the cost reduction, the performance, and the market sensation a 2 stroke 450 would create, I wouldn't be completely surprised.
