water/ dirt getting in the connections. Whats the best solution
#1
I was considering taking silicon and putting it in all the connections. Not the spray the kind from the tube that makes gaskets. I've seen this done on boats before but i didn't lnow if it would work here. Has anyone ever tried it?
THe only problem I see is the connections may get stuck and become very difficult to get appart. i'm 100% sure no dirt or water will get in though.

what connections are you talkin about? battery and so on?
i use a little lithium grease on the battery,,,,and hit all the wires with 'wire dryer' spray every now and again

Use a good quality dielectric grease from an auto parts store. That's exactly the purpose it was made for. There's some aerosol dielectric products that work well too. There's too many good products for that specific purpose to use silicone sealant. Plus, if you put it IN the connector it could actually cause a connection problem. Not to mention it would suck having to clean that stuff out. If I had to work on a machine and there was silicone sealant all over and in the connectors, I'd be Pi$$ed.
