welcome to the forum.
i hope you have a long and loving relationship with your new quad.
i have a question for you.
how do you like the 400ex.
im thinking about a 400ex or maybe a 450r.
but im still not sure what im going to get.
i was also thinking about a 400dvx arctic cat.
but i would rather the honda.
is it good on the trails.
how low is first gear can you keep it in one gear when your on the trails or do you have to keep on gearing up and down.
is the transmission a close ratio tranny or a long ratio tranny.
oh and welcome again.

Welcome to the site, glad to have another member.
The powertrain of the 400ex has been basically the same since its release in 99, with some carb upgrades and other changes throughout the years including the cosmetic overhaul and addition of reverse for 05. If you have a question, feel free to ask. I would suggest searching on it first though, often you can get answers to simple questions faster and get a lot more input that way.

HELLO EVERYONE
ran all day today with some guys that had autos and kept it in second most of the time (except on straightaways) and it did fine. I love the 400ex. This is my first quad and it does everything I want it to do and more.
