Default Carb adjustment

Is their any carb adjustment on the recon? I put a new air filter on and now its cutting out when i give it gas after half throttle. I just need to adjust the gas air mixture but I don't know which screw it is.

The mixture screw only effects idle and up to 1/8 throttle, so thats not gonna help the hesitation at half throttle.
Try turning on the choke when you go thru that 1/2 throttle. If it works better, then the carb is lean, and youll need to move the needle richer. Its also posible the main jet, needs to be one or two sizes bigger.
Heres a good article on jetting, let us know how it goes.

Ok When I take the lid off it runs pretty good. It's alot louder though with a little less power than normal.

With the lid on it cuts out at full throttle. I think I put to much oil on the filter. I used Fab 1 filter oil. Its really sticky! On my fingers it makes 2 inch strings when i press my fingers together and pull apart.

The air filter is choking the motor. I didn't think you could over oil a filter.Even after washing in Dawn it still won't come out. I'm soaking it in mineral spirits to get it out. Next time instead of drenching it I'll just put a light coat on.

I still can't see why there is no high speed gas air screw. On the go karts I raced we would run them at full throttle and dial it in on the track. I would glue a Nickel to the screw so I could tune it during the race.

I'm sure there is an adjustment i just don't know where it is.

You did a good job figureing it out.

The only adjustments for the mid and main, is to change clip position and main jet replacement. The air bleeds are a fixed size.
