I am considering buying mud tires for my new ATV. What can anyone tell me about the 589's pros and cons. Also what set up would you recommend and how will the handeling and performance be different between the two. (Front 26x9x12 Rear 26x10x12) VS (Front 26x10x12 Rear 26x12x12)

I have 589's on my Kawi and I can tell you this:

- They will go through anything and everything
- Steering effort will increase, especially at lower speeds
- They are tough as nails and it seems as if nothing will poke a hole in them
- They will steal power from the drivetrain as they are relatively heavy tires
- On hardpack trails they are *decent* for a mud tire...but some comfort is lost.
- At higher speeds, your handlebars may shimmy a bit from the tread pattern.
- Did I mention that in mud or slop they are your best friend???

Overall, I will buy these tires again and again for the winter and mud season. In the summer/ dry season, I will take them off and switch to an OEM type.

As for sizing...go for the widest possible you can fit, the wider footprint will increase stability and feel, especially on hills.

What can you tell me about your new Foreman? in terms of power, accelaration etc. What did you have before? Have you driven along side many other comparible machines, and how did it measure up against them?
