Default Wiseco-JE-Ross PISTONS??? Which one

I am going to start buying parts to do an engine rebuild on my 400ex but I am stuck on buying a piston. I have always used wiseco, but I dont see alot of people on here use them. How much better can JE or Ross pistons be? I plan on a 416 around 11-1 comp. Info would be appreciated. Also do head studs need to be replaced with this or not?

I was in the same spot. If the price is around the same I would go with a JE. I hear they are made from a little better metal. I will be buying a Wiseco since the one I want is about $80.00 cheaper than a JE. I dont thing you need to change the head studs but I'm not sure.

I have a 440 stroker. It is a 87mm (416) JE piston. It is 11:1, run on about 100 octane. It has about 2 years service. We took it out and bored a different cylinder, put new rings on it and are re-using the piston. I couldn't believe how good the piston looked compared to the cylinder.

Where are good places to find JE or Ross at, with good prices also. Also does anyone know whats the highest compression I can run with 93 octane?

the je and ross 416 pistons are 10.8:1 which is about as high as you want to go on pump gas. i would call up C&D racing or GT thunder for the parts. the ross pistons are lighter than the original je's. however, i don't know anything about je's newer lighter pistons that they have.
