Have you seen the timmyboy A-arms, those coupled with shocks give it a wider stance than a plus 2 250 R and travel of about 11.5"

How many times do you need to be told, take your sportsmans @ss back to the pull your polaris forum. We honda guys know that the craptor has more hp. 660 vs 400 I think it obvious BUT lets match hp to hp, with the price difference of about $1000 bucks. That will bring any 400 to about 35-38 hp like the yamaha ha ha. Put that
P O S on a mx track or through the woods and we'll see where it stays, behind us red riders!

Axles -
CCARPE1
CDDCPA
HONDAMANTURNEDBL

Control Arms -
BASH
& I'll have to search for the other post, it was something about the control arm folding on a trail and the quad rolling down a hill side, causing substantial damage.

Please Chris, if you're just here to "Stir the Honda people" like you proclaimed in the Yamaha group, go away. I really though you were above that.

Chris, I am really disappointed in you....

First of all, look at my post again 5v/cyl = 5 valves per cylinder. I'm sorry I forgot to post the word design. So, let me correct my post....

I am also quite familiar with the 426 design & have posted info about it on many occasions. The compression is not the only reason it makes so much power. Would you like me to go into detail? Also, it does not produce 50hp, not at the rear tire anyway.

I think it is very unfortunate you have decided to become an @sshole. I was looking forward to getting together and riding with you at a future date.

all I know, is the Raptor is out-dragging stock banshees...so theres no way it will only win to a stock 400ex by 2 quad lengths. Cripes !

As for MX'ing....never done it, probably never will. but all those 400ex's undoubtably have been mod'd to MX ... a-arms..tires...swingarms....powermods....etc etc.

What do you guys think a REAL Mod'd Raptor will do...with A-arms..swing-arm....piped....piston'd etc etc. ?? Just askin.

I thought that Polaris riders were touchy, heck the Yamaha Raptor owners are even worse!

With only minimum number of units sold to the public it makes you wonder if the Raptor was "rushed" to production without all off the bugs being worked out.

I am not bashing the quad, but there a many people on this forum that believe the Raptor is the almighty, perfect sport quad & that it will beat every quad in every condition.

I have seen posts from DS-650 & Banshee owners who spanked the Raptor, so whats the big deal? I guess its called EGO

bottom line=

raptors are good machines with a few flaws that go fast in a stright line
400ex= beter on the track, best all around bike out of the 2

the raptor was slopped to gether in my opinion

I'm not ripping on you for stating your opinion, but I am wondering how you came to it. I would honestly like to know why you think the Raptor is slopped together. I've had one for about a week, and as far as I can tell, it has quite good craftsmanship. The welds are clean, wires routed neatly, and generally it looks as if a lot of thought went into it's design. But like I said... It's only been a week. I havn't had problems, but only time will tell.

ok so 3 axles or bent rims, can you blame yamaha for that or is it a rider landing cockeyed off of a jump? Stir= to move about in, No one ever bad mouthed the 400ex. But to people saying that stock versus stock the 400ex is better, I say this: Ride both, make a choice. You people need to be more open as to what you ride, I have ridden every brand made, and the one I was most pleased with was believe it or not, a 1990 250 Suzuki Quadsport, It was made like that only in one year. And was by far the best machine for its cost, size, power, and rideability. I can tell you how Ive ridden banshees, 250x,300ex,400ex, 250R, Lt 250R Lt500R, tecate 3 and 4's , Mojave, Quadsports,Scramblers, etc. and personally I have onwed all but the Tecates,lt500,and mojave they where my brothers. The 300ex and 400ex were my cousins, but were kept at our house. Ive had plenty of time on all of these except in true Sand Dunes. The 400ex was very well made, but the Raptor is made better, It has all of the handling qualities of a 400 ex with very good suspension, lighting, tires, and speed. Overall this thing feels way lighter than 400lbs and i readily apparent through flight. Just ride one people. 2 days on one and you will change your mind about bashing it.

I think we both know what you meant about "stirring the Honda riders".

3 bent axles and bent wheels in the first couple days of ownership.

These guys weren't clearing 100' triples, they said it themselves. These were small, average, everyday jumps.

The bike should be able to handle a bad landing or two without breaking parts. Hell, I'd be broke if everytime I landed a little off, I broke or bent something. The fact is, short of some wheels, my EX hasn't bent or broken anything, it clears substantial air on a regular basis & has bottomed severely many, many times (see webpage).

None of us said the Raptor was a bad machine, it just seems some of you guys are awful quick to hype and brag it up, then hack on our rides. Then when problems arise, you brush them off. Personally I hate to hear these reports are coming out so soon, but you can't just ignore them and hope they will go away.

The racetrack (be it MX or HS) is where the BS will stop. If I need a Raptor to be competitive, I'll have one. At this point it looks like my 400 will still suit me fine. I'm with CT250R - I think the Raptor would make a fine play/fun bike, but when race day came, I belive I would be mounted on my EX.
