we have an '84 Yamaha 200 with original tires. AT least 50% left on the rears. No speedo, so i couldn't give ya mileage, but these 2-ply tires don't last more than 1000 miles or so, so I'd guess 500 miles?? it gets used about once a year.
also, a friend has a '99 Foreman ES ( i didn't know they had ES in 99), with one ride on it. the tires still have the new knobby things sticking out. it just sits in his barn. he got it from some oldtimer buddy who only tried it once ( i think he's passed away). MAN, would i like to get that quad.

I'm the original owner of my '86 TRX250R and other than all the motor mods (MO POWA) it looks pretty darn good considering its age.. Not quite showroom condition, but close. And I've dune ridden it every year since purchased..
Nope, won't even consider selling it either... not for a reasonable price anyhow.

I bought my '93 Warrior from my cousin's husband in November. It's a '93 and has less than 200 hours on it (no speedo, he had an hour meter on it). It's in very nice shape and the engine is like new. He put a rear rack on it, used it for hunting a few times and it sat most of the time, obviously.

Posting in these forums indicates a high degree of enthusiasm. I'm guessing most of the posters are the higher mileage people. The vast majority of ATV owners don't use them a great deal. It's not unusual for an ATV to be sold on April 1, and it comes back middle of October (hunting season) with under a hundred miles, a dead battery, a gummed up carb, and an owner who expects this to be warranty cause of the low mileage = ). A lot of the hard starting problems are related to infrequent use also. On occasion I'll see an early to mid 80's three wheeler come in looking brand new with the nubs still on the original tires. Usually they have more problems (dirty carb, rusty fuel tank) than their pristine looks indicate. Not that they wouldn't be fine to have...
