We are buying a quad for my wife here in the next month or so, and I forgot to look and see if it has a brake light. Does it?

Looked at a few pictures here online and I see one, but I am not sure if this is a mod or if it comes with the bike. My Raptor has one and I love it! (So does everyone else behind me.)

 

Yes, the 250EX has a stock brake light.

 

RAMTechRC, your wrong buddy! Even the salesman at the dealership thought that it was a brakelight. Tested at the dealership it is now realized that it is just a tail light and nothing more. Still bought it and just got into my garage this evening. I personally don't understand why they just don't make it a brakelight, the light is already there. The manual also calls it out as tail light.

Which leads me to my next question. How hard is it to make this a brakelight? It is something I personally would like to have. I don't feel like rear ending my wife or whoever is driving it.

 

i dont think its that hard to slow down when u see ur catching up to them.

 

It really isn't that big of a deal. I still think it's a great quad which is why I bought it for her. When leading on a trail ride it is always nice to have someone with a brake light up ahead. Not so much because you may run into them but also to see that they are braking up ahead tells you, you need to slow down for rough areas.

 

Hey Tazlittleking, I'm pretty sure that Honda makes a kit to make the tail light into a brake light. I think it's between 50-100 bucks. Call your dealership and they should be able to help you. Sure would benefit you when you're following your wife. Good luck with the quad, she'll love it. My wife loves to take ours out. They are so easy to ride that most of the time she never wants to get off.

 

I will have to contact Honda to see what it would take to make it a brakelight. Need to get a service manual from them anyways.

My wife is pretty excited to try her new quad out! Now that it is sitting in the garage it is getting the juices flowing. Unfortunately we may have to wait a couple of weekends due to rain and work. So she is really going to be biting at the bit. Can't wait myself!
