i PERSONALLY prefer thumb on a quad. if you get GOOD aftermarket shocks twist would be ok ...for me. did twist in the past and wont go back!! some people do it to give that RACER IMAGE!!! whatever

I've found the twist throttles more susceptible to freeze in cold weather than the thumb throttle

If you ride in the trails then a twist is a pain. To hard to push and pull the handle bars while trying to get one side from twisting at the same time. Seen a few people with twist throttles ride right up the side of a tree. Turning hard to the left will sometimes cause you to put the gas on when you don't really want it to be on.

It is probably great in the dunes where you don't constantly have roots and rocks trying to yank the bars out of your hands.

half to go with the thumb because if there is that state of panic of trying to hold on seems like the twist could cause trouble

Twist is terrible in the dunes. I have one and am going to get rid of it. It came with my bike. All I do is dune ride. You are constantly turning left and right and you will pull on it at the most unopportune time like coming to the top of a razorback, making a left turn at the top and launching it cause you accidently gave some gas when it was not wanted. STAY WITH THE THUMB!!!

Twist is only good for straight drag racing. That I can't complain about, Does awesome there.

Thumb all the way. I have had twist on a few different quads, and it was always an accident waiting to happen IMO.

mudblaster- Did you have someone make your quads front bumper?

I picture a welder asking you how much coverage you wanted for the front. The Welder- So do you want to protect the grill? mb- More. The Welder- So you also want to protect the lights? mb- More. The Welder- What more is there? mb- I want everything protected including the bars and the rider.

That's one tall bumper.
