rubicon tires what size
I have a 04 rubi with the stock 25" tires and I want to put bigger ones on it like 26" but I don't want to lose my bottom end power . Can anyone tell me how much power it will take away to go with 26". Also does anyone know how much the power kit with the pipe and jet kit will do for the rubi. thanks
p.s. 589's or mudlites

My dad's rubicon has 26" ITP 589s and spins them very well. No noticible power loss. A jet kit/pipe/and filter does wonders. To give you an example, my Rancher with 26" bugs and winch runs neck to neck with my friend's Rancher that's all stock. When I put my stock tires back on he can't keep up.

My best friend I ride with has a 04 Rubicon with the 27inch 589ITP Mud tires and it screams! The machine is powerful enough to run 27's no problem what so ever. The look great and give you better ground clearance as well. I used to run the 589's but found the mudlites to be so much easier to handle the machine than the 589's, plus it will go more places with the mudlites, example, over slick roots on hills the mudlites do better and I still go thorugh the deep mud just as easily as I did with the 589 tires. The lugs are as deep when you use 26 or larger tires and the edges roll over and taper into the side of the tire unlike the 589 tires do. The mudlites feel like power steering compared to the 589 tires.

i put 26" mud lites on my 04 rubicon and i could there was a power loss but its not much.
i wouldent go any bigger then 26" or you will lose alot of power when you need it like when your in the mud and it wont have the guts to spin them.
it mihght seem fine on the dirt and trails but when you get into the gumbo thats when youll see a power loss and you wont like it.
thats just what ive seen with my best friends 03 rubicon.and he has 27" mud lites and it strugles in the mud.
