Should i sell my 400ex and get a 450r?

I've recently found a dealer out of state that will sell me a 2005 trx 450r for $5,500. Im thinkin about sellin my 400ex and gettin a 450r instead of getting a lot of upgrades for my 400ex. My friend owns two 450's and ive road them. Very nice and more power than the 400ex. How much do you think i could get out of my 400ex? How would a 400ex with a jet, pipe, and k&n airfilter do against a stock 450?

i'd sell and get a 450 if u got the money. i think you could get atleast 4k for it. last one i saw for sale around here was an 01 w/ bent A-arms/tie-rods and they were askin 3500 for it.

I'd say if you got the cash and more importantly, riding ability ... go for it. Since your 04 doesn't have reverse, you'd basically be going to the same quad with better handling, heaps more power and lighter to-boot. Only thing you'd be giving up is your electric start.
If it were me .. I'd be all over it!
And with a pipe/filter/jet you're not coming close to the 450R on an EX .. pipe/filter/jet on the EX you're getting about 30hp perhaps?? If I'm not mistaken the 450R is 38 out of the box, and again .. lighter ...

My bad .. "assumed" better handling. It was intended to be Honda's premiere racing quad, with better ergos and frame geometry etc... it is quite possible that the Ex is better handling I guess .. never rode either of them so it's all conjecture on my part ...
