Start up on an incline
#1
We have limited space in our garage. There is just a trailer with my 250ex and Raptor 660 on it and our mustang in the garage. My truck gets parked outside. Before I trail ride I like to start up both quads and make sure the engine is starting and running correctly before leaving like most others. My problem is that it is kind of a pain in the butt to move the trailer out and unload both quads just to start them up and run the engines a little. The front quad on the trailer which is usually the 250ex stands at a 30 degree angle (front up) because of the design of the trailer. (It stands over the tongue which allows a smaller trailer for two quads)
I just would like people's thoughts on if you think it would cause any problems starting an atv at an incline like this. If not a problem I can just start them up right on the trailer to make sure they are starting correctly and running. Then I could just go!

i would think its OK, because when i sunk my vinson, for the umm 3rd time.....THE ONLY WAY IT WOULD STAY RUNNING WAS STANDING UP! belive it or not, on my 400ex i ride verticle wheelies all day long and it never misses a beat, so i belive its A OK to start your bike like that.

Oil would be my concern, especially on a cold start! If it is tipped up, might put all the oil to the back of the engine, and not be getting any to the oil pump??? Sure a wheelie is the same thing, but you don't run around in a wheelie for long periods.

Thanks for your replies. I will just be starting the quads up in the trailer just to make sure they are starting okay. So I think I will go ahead with it.
