It has reverse that is what made me pick it! When you're in tight trails or stuck with a bike that has no reverse that sucks!

 

a good friend of mine had a 300ex and that thing was probably the most fun to ride out of any quad i've ridin impractical for the riding that we do but definately a lot of fun my only complaint was that i thought it was to light in the front end ridin up steep trails but me and the other guys who rode it were all between 6' and 6'-3 200 lbs or better so maybe we were just not ridin it right but definately fun to play around on

 

the only thing the 05 400ex and 450r share is the head light, handlebar guard and tail light. Everything else is different.

 

Now that the 400ex has reverse they could just drop the 300ex. The 250ex could take its place as the beginner quad.

 

I think honda needs to can the 400ex and make a 450x. Just imagine a 450r type quad with electric start and reverse. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

 

If they did put out a 450x, I think it would be a modified 400 engine, not the 450R engine. Still, with the 250ex for beginners, I think freshining up the 300ex and giving it another 60cc would be good positioning for Honda. A 250, 350, and 450 sport/rec bikes with a 450 racer would make Honda models more competitive with other manufacturers offerings.
