I got to rida a stock 05 300ex for a few minutes the other day. It wasnt bad at all. Definatly a power difference between stock and modified. the 300ex im building will look nothing like a stock one. And the 06 300ex is gettin a face lift jsut like the 400ex did. Even though the 05 400ex and 450r look NOTHING alike.

i bought my 300ex a few years ago. has some mods on it. way faster then a stock one. everyone that lives near me were jelous of my quad..... now everyone near me eithier has a 400ex, raptor, or a z400 and now im the only one thats jelous. but soon ill be getting a 450R to show them all whats up. hehe but yea a 300ex is a good quad. i never had 1 single problem with it. but after having it for so long, you tend to want more power.

I love mine the only things I don't like are the reverse procedure but who dose like that and I also don't like the look of the front plastic. The rear shock could also be a little stiffer as well thats why I'm looking into the raptor rear shock swap!

Probably the best tight trail quad ever made! Lots of low end power. It isn't really down on power in those situations, because you aren't going real fast anyway. It certainly isn't a bike for a 6' tall rider however. I use to do a lot of jumping on this thing. It was so light and little, it was like riding a toy.

2004 300EX 377 lbs dry weight from Honda brochure
2004 400EX 375 lbs dry weight from Honda brochure (could this be an error?)
2005 400EX 386 lbs dry weight from Honda web site
My opinion of 300EX has always been that it is heavy for a 282cc quad. I think I would rec'm a Blaster for smaller rider and then jump up to a box stock 400EX. Both the Blaster and the 400EX have good hop-up potential when rider wants & needs it. The 400EX actually is very easy for a beginner and yet runs pretty darn well box stock without intimidating novices. I know there is big market for 300EX and Yami 350 Warrior/Raptor but I guess I just don't get the attraction. Sorry.
