Hey i gotta a question I ride a 2003 Honda 400 EX and when i shift down to first gear i can hear the gears bang i have no problems going to first through fifth but when i shift down with the clucth the gears will bang or it wont even shift down until i come to a complete stop is there a way i can fix this?

 

are you fully pulling in the clutch while downshifting? if so check to make sure your clutch is adjusted right. to do this: with the quad off shift into first, pull the clutch in and roll the bike... if its very hard to roll you need to adjust your clutch.

 

You should probably also check the oil that might also cause some noise and some big problems down the road.
