Iv'e been wanting to buy a new quad but i dont no what one to buy im thinking of the 05 400ex but i heard good things and bad things but i deffentily want to buy 400 or higher so if you can help me i would apperciate it a whole lot

Whats more important cost, power, reverse, electric start? I say go for one of the 450's. If price is a concerne go for the z400 it has electric start, reverse, more power than the ex and costs the same.

 

Z400 is the best all-around machine, if you aren't looking for a race bike!

 

If you want an agile, powerful beast, get the TRX 450R. But if reverse and electric starter are important to you, you could go with the TRX 400EX. Aesthetically, they look almost identical.

As for the Suzuki Z400, those look pretty cool too, and in stock form, the Z400 might be faster than the 400EX. Though personally, after having owned several Honda ATV's, as well as a brand new Suzuki QuadRunner in the past, I firmly believe a Honda will be much more reliable in the long run.

 

If you ride dunes, don't get the Z400 or EX unless you plan on modifying them heavily. So if you plan on doing that, get a 450R or YFZ (faster, but not as comfortable).

go for the yfz 450 even if it is a yamaha i have a buddy with one and they fly one bad thing is it has no reverse
