You might be right, but it looks to me like he is just saying it's not in the same catagory. He is also right stock all of those quads would beat the Z in a drag race but you and I know none of them could hang in the woods.

Just no reason for it is all.
I didnt say you were bashing anything, I just said that you left some other quads out. The 400 is not the same type of bike, its not a big bore trail quad but rather a 400 class trail and track machine. I wasnt "dissing" your quad, its just not the same type of machine. You wouldnt be pissed if I said the 300ex didnt belong in a comparison with 400 class bikes, even though its a great trail bike and has good power. I dont give a darn what quad you have, and I wasnt criticizing your opinion. Your opinion doesnt control the engine size of a Z, and it wont change that its not a part of the big bore class. Now can it perform well compared to them? Of course, but thats not the point, its the class that you mentioned not the performance.

Maddog, it seems we are just missunderstanding each other, I see where you view was coming from now. It is hard to tell what some people mean by simly typing. When I said category, I didn't mean big bore (even tho this thread is about a big bore), I meant a quad that is fairly powerful, trail friendly power delivery, e-start, reverse, and clutch etc. These are the things I personally look for in a performance trail quad. A predator could fall in this category, now that I think of it a 400ex could now that it has reverse. The KFX700 is an auto, not that it makes it inferior, just not an option I personally would want.

Now lets continue with the main topic, 650ex

Sounds good Moto, sorry about the misunderstanding.

The 650 idea is older than the 450 idea, and older than the 450 bike too. I wouldnt hold my breath for anything but "Bold New Graphics" for at least a few more years.

Well, it runs good for a 400ex and still is reliable. I have had it in for two years now and it still shows no signs of wear. As for performance, it basically runs with a stock raptor. Consistantly it will get the hole until third, then a stock Raptor will pull back beside me and stay even thruout the rest of the run in a 1/8 mile. You can get a lot more out of em, but I use it for trails so I wanted to keep it reliable. I probably would sell it if a 650ex came out tho.

BTW, I am one of those hopefulls that Honda will finally produce a exciting quad, but deep down I know not to hold my breath until there sales drop a bunch. I think Honda builds a great quad for what we all really use quads for, but it is nice to have a fancy flagship model.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I just hope if they don't bring out a 650ex they will at least bring out a 450R with electric start and reverse along side the model they have now.
As most of you know Honda has stopped making the XR trail bikes that the 400ex motor come from and have replaced the XR series of road/trail bikes with the new electric start 450 and 250 CRF based bikes, I just hope the 400ex will be replaced by a 450ex along the same lines.
