Battery Question
#1
I am using a jumper box right now to turn my quad over. When I pressed the status button it said medium, so I tried to crank it over it turned over a few times but didn't start(its been quiet a while sinec its been started). So I pulled my sparkplug and it looked ok, and made sure i was getting a spark and I was. Tried turning my quad over a few more times, but each time I try it now it turns over once and stops. Looked at the battery status and it was almost at low. Would charging the battery fully fix this?

Being unused is tough on batteries. Its posible its not gonna come back.
Charge it up, with a trickle charger . Then take it to an auto parts store(napa or auto zone or similar), and have them load test the battery. This will show whether the battery is any good or not.

Well I hooked my quad up to my truck's battery and it turned over and over. It has a spark and all, and after a while it started sounding like it was trying to start. Quad hasn't been started for a couple months and its cold out. Does this sound pretty normal? Im pretty sure the gas is good. I may just drain it and buy a few bucks worth of new gas. PS This is a 406 stroker with a high comp piston if that makes any diff.

The battery needs either a good charging or replacement. Be careful when you jump start a quad. The motor on the truck needs to be off. If its on, the alternator will put out too high of a voltage, and the quads voltage regulator/rectifier can fry.
If the gas is older than 3 months, and didnt have stabil put in before storage...its crap. Id start with new gas. Drain out the old crap . And if the gas was old, and the float bowl was left full, the carb could be gummed up. If it doesnt want to start, it may need a carb cleaning. Try holding the throttle at 1/4 open while cranking, this will bypass the idle circuit.
If it were me, id start it by pull starting. Its much easier on everything, and you wont burn up the starter by cranking for long periods. If the battery is shot, then that needs to be replaced first. Then have a lawn tractor or other quad , hook up a strap and pull it along at about 7mph. Have the key on, and in 3rd or 4th gear, and let the tires spin over the motor. If its posible for a motor to start...it will by doing this.

Got it started already just jumped it off my truck. Jetting is off so Im heading up to a shop and getting a smaller jet. My carb is putting out way to much gas... theres puddles of gas in the intake ports.
