you need one expecially if you have a pipe and the krome power head pipe gets blue all the way up if its not jetted right. i know this because i have the xcellerator and its chrome like the krome power pipe. They also give you a bit more throttle response and you really dont have any other choice of a jet kit besides the dial a jet which dosnt work as good in my opinion. basically all jet kits on the market are made by dyno jet like the moose, fmf and k&n jet kits.

I've been a tech full time for nearly 20 years. My opinion...you can do as well or better in most cases by mixture screw, needle clip or shimming, and main jet adjustments. It's hard to generalize from bike and set-up to bike, but I've rarely (matter of fact I can't remember ever) been impressed by Dyno Jet's kits. For example, a couple days ago I put a Dyno Jet kit (customer's request) in a Honda 1100 Sabre with Cobra exhaust. It ran OK, but I thought it was actually stronger with stock jetting "seat of the pants", and I know with a little "tweaking" I could have made stock work better yet. That has been my typical experience. I don't think the quality of the parts is nearly as good as stock either. I don't mean to slam Dyno Jet...but I'd pass on them for my stuff.
