stuck in the mud
#1
I have an '04 Foreman ES. So far, the only time I get stuck is in thick clay. I can easily make it through 2 feet of water, sand, up steep hills, or just "regular" mud. But I live in Arkansas, and while riding through sums fields, I sometimes encounter thick, grayish, claylike mud. If I'm going fast enough, I can usually plough through it. Last night I was riding on semi-dry ground, and apparently hit a low spot in the field (I was only going about 6 MPH at the time) and pretty much just sunk into about 10 inches of claylike mud. Even in 1st and in 4 wheel drive it wouldn't budge. I finally put it in reverse, backed up about 6 feet, then ploughed my way through it. My question is, has anybody else had trouble with the type of mud I'm talking about, or should I invest in some mud tires?

mud tires with a wide-spaced lug are what you need. The tri-claws on my 600 grizzly where great in clay but you have to rev the motor enough to keep the tires cleaned out or they will clog and turn into slicks. Be careful because mud tires will throw baseball sized chunks of mud at you.
