Default how to get the sprocket drive off of a cam

How do i get the sprocket drive off of a cam? is it a press fit? *stock cam*.. i'm trying to get the decompression off of the cam because its holding open my exaust valve.

i have no idea what bike your talking about. the cam sprocket is bolted on the cam with 2 bolts on a 400ex. it is bolted to a flange on the cam. this flange is pressed on. are you sure your spring and plunger in the head is in place and in good working order ( that is if you have a 400ex)? i would just get an aftermarket cam that doesn't use the decompression assembly if you don't want it.

yes 400 ex, What do you mean by spring and plunger?
