I have owned both machines. In fact, I still own a Lakota.

Both are good machines, but the 300ex is a better machine. It is better made and the manual clutch is more fun to ride.

Besides... Honda Rocks!

Default 300ex vs lakota

I have driven both as well. I've had 250r's and 350x's, fast machines. I really liked the 300ex but I now own a Lakota and love it. It is very comparible to the 300ex but is not a fast top end. I love the Lakota's automatic for doing a lot of the wood trail riding that I've been up to lately. The Kawasaki has been very dependable and has never let me down. The design is very easy to work on. I have always been a huge fan of Honda and it was really hard for me to buy this machine at first for that reason alone, I would now have no problem buying a Kawasaki or a Honda. I'll pass on the Yamaha's and the Suzuki's, I've always had problems with them. Hope this helps. I don't think you can go wrong either way though, I think it all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing.

Yup. The Lakota has an automatic clutch. Which is not all bad.

It is very handy if you want to use your machine to do any work around the yard.

My Lakota has a trailer hitch.
