Hi everybody. This is my first post here.

A good buddy of mine is selling a 2002 Honda 250EX quad. He wants $2000 and he is throwing in a set of paddles. The bike was his wifes, has low hours, and well taken care of. It has an autoclutch and reverse.

I know it isn't the most powerful bike but I've ridden it and had a lot of fun. I'm not a very experienced quad rider so I figure I'll start out with something I can afford now then a couple years down the road the misses will get this one and I'll get something scary fast that I can more easily hurt myself on [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

So what do you guys think? Is this a good deal?

 

That's a good price. I'd take him up on his offer if I was you. You'll be passing that off to your wife within a year to get something more powerful.
My wife drives a 250ex on the trails and a 400ex on the dunes and she just turned 49 yesterday (don't tell her I told you her age.lol).

thats a steal not a deal i bought a brand new 2004 last year best price i ccould find in new england was 3500 otd but i bought the 4 yeaar warranty it pushed it up to 3850 if hes your buddy and is in real good shape you should feel guilty by the way its a great machine

 

Welcome to the forums! I agree. Buy that 250 and start having some fun! My neighbor owns a 250ex. A great first atv to own.

 

Great deal. My 2005 was $3400, so go for it. You'll get tired of it in a year, so make sure your wife likes to ride.

 

Yeah. The 250 ex is a great machine.. depenable shaft drive... easy to maintain.. a blast to ride...
I have a 2004 250ex... and i am 20.. and i really dont think you can get tired of it.. unless your'e riding in the same areas over and over.. as long as your environment changes and you go to different areas to ride.. you will enjoy this quad for a long time..
Its a great wheelie machine, easy to control and to slide on turns.
My brother has a 660 Raptor.. and he still loves to ride my 250ex..
I paid $3200 for my 2004 250ex in December, and i saw a 2002 red 250ex at another local dealer and they wanted $2200 for it.. but it was decked out with tons of mods.. and looked like it was rode hard.. but still in good shape.... dont know who bought it.. but its gone now!

So if this 250 ex is in great shape, and if it has any mods on it.. yes i think $2000 is a good deal. But your gonna have to spend more money on gear, helmet, etc..
