i think its personal preference..i dont think u can group certain states as what they say..im sure people in cali use four wheeler and quad..same on the east coast..im in Arkansas..i use em all..quad/bike/four wheeler/wheeler/machine/ ect..

 

I call mine a wheelie. my pud fried calles his a bike

 

around here in quebec canada we call them fourwheelers and three wheelers well three wheelers, we also call them bikes but usually get messed up between bikes and dirtbikes. We never call them quads
