Probably. Your stock filter had that very restrictive wire insert, and the foam is very fine. The UNI has a way more open wire insert, and the filter is two stage (course on the outside and fine on the inside), so it flows better than stock. The EX is jetted LEAN at the factory, to meet emissions standards. Your UNI will only make the situation even worse. The deciding factor is whether your muffler is flowing at its maximum capacity, or it has a little more left to give.
