Default Price for 2005 Honda Foreman 500 4x4...

I was wondering if the price I paid for my 2005 Honda Foreman 500 FM 4x4 was a good one. I picked it up for $6300.00 out the door (tax, title, etc) along with a 4 year warranty (the warranty was $500.00 - originally wasn't going to get it since I've had good fortune with Honda products, but you never know...). So the actual bike cost out the door, minus the warranty was $5800. I was originally going to have one shipped from an out of state dealer but the local dealer beat the out of state dealer by a few hundred dollars. Any thoughts? What have other paid for one?

He didn't get ripped at all. Paying an extra $200 or so and getting it at a local dealer is just fine in my book.
He did not say where he is from, but I suspect he is not near one of the wholesale dealers and would probably have to drive a good way. With gas prices the way they are, he would probably put a big dent in that $200. Besides, having a "local throat to choke" in case he has problems helps a lot too.

However, in my case, I made the trip to Ritchie. My local dealer was a little over $1000 higher for the 05 Rubicon and wouldn't budge on the price, so it was worth it for me.

Congratulations on the new quad Pitycamptes, I think you'll be really happy with it!

Thanks. Well I'm way down in the SW part of the Country (AZ). I saw SouthernHonda's price out the door for roughly $5600.00. If I had it shipped it would have cost me another $400.00. To drive out and get it, with gas, food (maybe lodging) around $400.00. So either way I'm up to $6000+. I feel good about the price but just wanted to see what others were paying. Plus, I figure if I purchased it at Southern Honda including transportation and the extended warranty I would have been way over what I currently paid. In the state I live in I would have had to of had it registered (offroad plate) which means MVD would have checked to see if I paid taxes. If not I pay 5% of purchase. I could have gone two ways on that, 1) falsify papers to make it look like I paid taxes or 2) paid the tax - either way I still would have paid more.
