There was a post on this same topic a couple of days ago. I use the Honda stuff. Dont see any reason not to. If you buy it bulk it is not much more money. But there will be many posts following me saying that I am wrong. Seems to be a touchy subject.

Any good quality motercycle oil will do the trick but do not use automotive coolant. I have a page bookmarked (somewhere) that talks about honda gold wing street bikes that have waterpump falure after a few thousand miles of use if auto coolant is used. What happens is the sillicates in normal auto coolant litterly sandblast the impeller blades to death. only use Honda coolant or another motercycle approved sillicate free coolant. GM dexcool is also sillicate free but for the little the rubie takes Id buy the honda stuff

Thx for the help all, I will use Honda's brand of Oil/Antifreeze. I am taking my RubicoN for its first maintenance next week, think I could do everything but the valve check. I am over the 100 miles (105 miles so far) and plan on riddin some this week bout 50-60 miles will this be bad for the Engine since it says too do the first checkup after 100miles or 20 hours of riddin?

Hey Texmud:
I agree with you on the oil. Where do you buy it in bulk at? My dealer isn't offering a discount in bulk.

Your dealer should sell the pre-mixed anti-freeze/coolant by the quart.

I buy my oil by the case or 2 cases at my local Honda shop and save a dollar or two on each quart. Try other dealers in your area or try chaparral motorsports. They sell in bulk but charge to ship oil.
