I received my reply from Maier today also. It also came from Jeff Lewis. Seems to be more helpful than what you received though:


We went over to the Honda shop today and was supprized to find out you are correct. We don't know how they got off but they did. We are refitting them and would be happy to send you a replacement pair free of charge. Just let me know what color you want and where you want them sent and we will take care of it. As far as the lever sticking you will find that happens to some bike with or without our bolt/handguard. it is a simple fix. just back the bolt out slightly untill the lever moves freely the tightem the bottom nut.

I don't know what part of my letter was right but i think the molds that Maier was using were off. Hope the new one's they send me work better.

Have you received your new replacement pair of hand guards from Maier yet? If so, do they fit any better than your first set? I am looking for a set of hand guards for my Rancher and I’ve looked at both Maier and Moose brands. I was considering the Maier hand guards, but after reading your post I think I might just go with the Moose brand instead, if the fit of the Maier hand guards were as bad as you say it they were. Any information you could provide me with would be appreciated. Thanks

 

they fit great!!

both the levers work now and it fits like a glove around the handguards. I'll recommend them.

 

Who sent you the new hand guards, Maier? I sent them an email with my concerns and complaints, to Maier, but they never replied to my email.

 

I personally dont understand the prolems, I bought mine directly from Maier months ago, and they fit very well. The only difficulty I saw was the dust cover that fit over the brake cylinder, and it was jsut a molding problem. I took a paint heatgun and heated the plastic to make it plyable and moved the part for a better fit.
