Default Yet another frozen swingarm bolt

So far, I have sprayed it with WD40 and let it sit, heated it on each end and the middle and pounded with a 4 lb hammer and about a 10-12 pound sledge. No luck. I am using a pin punch that is flat so I don't cause damage to the bolt. At this point, I could care less about the bolt. I ordered a stainless one from Woodward Specialties.

I did a search and saw that some people used an air hammer. I am assuming it isn't the ones that are like 20-40 bucks from Northern. I can't see this working anyhow at this point. I was standing on the quad and swinging downward. I started to squash the threads together from hitting the pin punch so hard. In fact, I bent the flat portion of the punch that is 1/2 thick of hardened steel. Because my punch is about 8" long, I was able to fabricate 2X4 around the frame to protect it.

From the searches, I am guessing this is actually seized inside the engine case. Wondering if it could be pressed out with a 20 ton press without cracking the case. I wasn't looking forward to taking the engine out of the frame. At this point it should be too bad though. I already have the entire backend including the subframe off.

I know one thing for sure. I will be lubing the others every 6 months. It does seem that a grease zerk with a small hole in the center where the engine is would have saved a lot of trouble. Is it just me or don't engineers get any smarter over time? Why does it always take someone else to come up with solutions and market them? It is good for the 3rd party market but easily fixed otherwise.

/Jon

I would try rigging up something using a porta-power type thing. If that doesn't work and a 12lb sledge won't work, I dunno?
