For trails you will probably want reverse so the 250/300 have that. its just weather you want electric start or not. the 250 is easy to kick not hard at all. they are are great machines pretty much bulletproof but i would go with the 250/300
Ok, I believe that one...... If the guy on the 250R has never ridden before..............
Or if the 250R is out of gas......

That would both be operator error.

This thread has some GREAT advice......

haha. the 250X/300ex are almost same quads, 250R is insnt in the same catagory as 250/300 250 and 300 are small, beginer quads, 250R is the BEST race machine ever made. Best handling quad every and insanly fast. Dont let the little 250X and 300ex owners tell you ANYTHING Different. 250cc 2-stroke vs 250cc 4-stroke..

Why are these your only choices? Is it a money thing or are you just looking for old school quads.

i love my 250x its very fast right beside the 400ex its great on trails and jumping but if your liiking for speed fo with the 250r they are also great machines but you half 2 rebuild them alot i think. if you want reliabilitey go with the 250x i really dont like the 300ex that much because its electric start and there alittle but slower stock the 250x is the lightest of them all i think there a great bike all around

I race my 250x on mx

buy the 250R, sell the motor, and buy a 450 dirtbike motor. Such as a yz426, yz450, or crf450. Or even a 400EX and bore it out. 2-strokes are out of age and 4-strokes are the new thing. I know im gonna get hell for saying that, but that my opinoin and the opinoin of many others also.
