400ex a-arm bearings
#2
It is usually cheaper to replace the entire a-arm. Checkout Service Honda. It is tedious job replacing the bearings too. I think a lower a-arm is ~$36 and an upper is ~$55.
I have tried some of those kits that replace the bearings with polyurethane and steel sleeves. Had big problems getting them back off. Had to hammer the bolt through the sleeve to get them on in the first place and then couldn't get them back out without cutting off the a-arm with a Dremel and then cutting through the sleeve.

Plus you get new ball joints, and freshly painted a-arms. I ride in the rockiest of areas with a-arm guards too. I used to run them but they just fill up with mud and make it harder to wash. I have been running this way for several years even at Tower City in PA and Hatfield McCoy. I am skeptical that a-arm guards do anything.
