I am looking for a 2 wheel drive that will be fun on the trails yet tough enough for some work. I have looked at both the Rancher and the Big Bear, which is the best for the money and Why?
Wanting to know the good and the bad of both.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Get the Rancher, the Big Bear in in my opinion, and this is only my opinion is too tippy. It has a narrower track width and a higher center of gravity. The Rancher may be a little more expensive , but the extra cost is worth every penny.

Every Big Bear that I've ever seen has 4 wheel drive, and you mention that you want 2 wheel drive.

the big bear does come in 2wd, both are very nice machines. If you want reliability go with the rancher, for alittle more cash you can get the big bear in 4wd probably about the same about as you could get the ranche in 2wd, not sure on that though

Are the two bikes the same price? Remember the Big bear has a 57cc advantage over the Rancher thats a quite abit larger motor if they have the same price tag.

tide the rancher and then ride the Big Bear. you make the decision. I felt the decision was obvious. The Rancher rode better, has great power, probably more reliabale (it's a honda) but time will tell, and AWESOME power for a 329CC quad!!

I had a Big Bear, and I've rode two Ranchers. The Rancher's power can't compete with the Big Bear's. As far as reliability goes, when I cruise the Yamaha thread, I never see posts like, Big Bear shifting problems, or Big Bear won't start, or Big Bear recall in effect.

Do yourself a favor, get the Yamaha.

Listen Cartchick,

The guy wants some opinions, I gave him mine. You gave him yours. Do you lose sleep when someone gives an honest opinion that casts a negative shadow on your beloved quad? Life is too short. Get some sleep.
