I was helping a friend install a Rekluse clutch in his trx tonight and there wa alot of very small aluminum particals in and around the clutch basket .
Has anyone else noticed this ? The basket around the friction tabs looked ok . some of the particals were pretty large .
They seems to be aluminum or some type non ferous material .

How often has he changed his transmission oil??? If he has neglected it, or never changed it from day one, it might just be the usual stuff you get from a new transmission? I changed my trans at 1 hr., 10 hrs., and 20 hrs. on my machine when it was new. With a seperate transmission, you have no oil filter working to clean things up, so you rely completely on frequent oil changes.

I highly suggest running real (2-stroke) transmission lube, rather than some wimpy engine oil like you are forced to run with an integrated engine and transmission. I run Maxima MTL. http://www.maximausa.com/products/gearlubes/mtl.asp

The Rekluse zstart clutch is awsome . I have one on my YFZ my bud now got one in his TRX . He's looking forward to NOt having to kickstart it when he stalls in a tight corner or ect .
Now I just have to teach him how to adjust it for his holeshot but I wont give up all my secret's
