I have a 04 rubicon which seems to have a fuel problem. i can only get about 40-45 miles brfore going to reserve. i know that there are many varibles in this equation, but does anyone else have the same problem. The rubi has half the range of my 2000 450 foreman. The local dealer tells me there is nothing wrong and will not rejet the carb. operation altitude is 5000-7000 feet. Please give me some feedback on your rubi experience.

 

We average about 18 mpg and on nicer trails we average around 20 mpg and this is with 2 riders and about 75 lbs cargo.

We use ours on an average of 6500 ft to 10,000 ft. Our dealer installed a 150 jet as part of their pre-delivery and it runs great at all altitudes.

 

Have a 2001 and get 75-100 miles all the time. It takes about about 200 miles for the engine to start breaking in and getting good fuel economy.

Make sure you put an air filter/exhaust that helped me a lot in the fuel economy.

By the way never changed my jetting just turned down the fuel/air mixture, look at your spark plug. I bet it is black color like mine was and I was getting terrible mileage.
