thinking about a winter overhaul....any 440 kit tips
#1
I am considering a 440 kit, i know i could go buy a 450R and get close to the same performance, but i love sleepers and it will mostlikely be cheaper and have better performance in the long run. so far this is what i have found. 440 sleeve and install, web cam, ross racing 11:1 high comp piston (does that comp require anything over 94 octane?), ported head, full exhaust kit, maybe an upgrade to the valve springs, and a carb (not sure what one). grand total $1200 no carb. does this seem steep to anyone. i am willing to pay it for the 43 hp it will put out. maybe more with a diff carb.

an R with the HRC kit runs 39-43 hp. if im runnin 43 maybe more i do believe i will be able to hang with most quads out there. handling is obviously not going to compare but i hope a set of elka shocks will help that this summer.
