Has anyone tried the Powroll 352cc mod? I was thinking of going all out on my 300 vs buying a 400ex and losing reverse. I figure with works shocks and the 352 kit, it should wake up a bit. Any comments?

I've been thinking about this too.

Rick Ritter also does one of these kits, they are about 1,100 to 1,500 complete. He told me that they will more than hang with a 400ex.

You'll need more than just works shocks too, long A-arms, and longer Axle.

Did you call him to see what all it included? Who makes extended a-arms and swingarms for a 300? All I ever see are ones for 250r's and 400's.

TC racing sells a 405 kit that kranks out mass horsepower, maybe give that a shot. TC racing's # is in the back of dirtwheels.

i never got into big details with him.

I decided not to go big bore. I'm just going TC's Port, polish, valve job, and CDI box mods for my motor, Plus a White Brothers CDI box.

94dgblaster, what kind of back tires did you have on your blaster in the pictures on your page? Also how did they hook up? On like hard pack?

Thanks for the info. Looks like by the time I get finished with it, I could have bought a used 400ex. I just hate losing reverse.

I had Maxxis Sur-traks.

this is what i wrote about them for www.exriders.com

Review of Maxxis Sur-Trak Tires

I purchased my Sur Traks in 23x10x8 from Windmountain Enterprises, for my 1994 Blaster. They cost me 124 delievered to my door. I first noticed the huge tread they had on them! I was shocked, thinking maybe these are just too aggressive for my blaster. I installed them anyways. They were actually pretty hard to get on due to the stiff sidewalls, but i got them on after 40 minutes of cussing and sweating, more cussing than sweating actually!

First ride.

I got them on very eager to try them out. I got out in my yard, nailed it and the tires grabbed perfectly sending me on my back in the grass I was used to my Turf Tamers that didn't grab anything in my grass. After getting used to my new found traction, I decided to try them out on the trail.

First Trail ride.

I did my loop down some loose rail road dirt, nice hook up. I did notice sliding to be difficult, almost impossible. After playing around I did some hill climbs on some loose dirt, and I had no trouble at all, good traction all the way up. I decided after that to check them out in mud. As i suspected they did great! I went through some muddy spots that always gave me trouble with no problem at all. The only problem I found with traction is they seem to want to dig holes in loose pack when you are on a bind instead of grabbing.

Conclusions

These tires are perfect for trail use. If you like powersliding or spinning your tires in gravel, you probably don't want these because they don't want to do it. The wear factor is really good on them. I've heard people having 2,000 miles on them and still having tread left. I rode about 20 hours on mine and they weren't showing any signs of wear.

Loose pack 8
Hard pack 8
Mud 10
Wear 10
