2 ALL 250X AND 300EX RIDERS

MdotHolla, the 400ex a arms and tie rods are a bolt on, no mods, you can get a complete set off ebay for as little as 50 - 100 bucks, depends on how the bids are running and how many people want them at the time. I bought new tie rods from Planet Honda for about 15 bucks a pair. Funny thing, stock 400ex a arms are cheaper than 300ex a arms from the dealer !!

There is 1 mod you need to do when installing the 400 a-arms. There is a brake line mount on the back of the lower a-arm, that when in the right condition, will hit the tie rod and will not let you turn the bars all the way. Simply remove the mount and everything will work fine.

I found some 1" spacers off ebay, lines up the back tires to the front real nice, a lot cheaper than a new axle, just don't get the stud spacers, get the solid block with studs spacer,a lot more sturdy, haven't had a bit of trouble with the ones I put on my son's, held up fine to jumps and a few motocross track runs, if you go wider than that, you may want to look into an axle to prevent any damage.

I used 1 1/2" screw on to the stud type on my sons. I also bought them off e-bay. We havn't had any problems with ours and we do alot of motocross riding with jumps. (doubles and flat ladings) I really can't say anything bad about these, because they have held up well and have sure took their fair share of hard hits with no problems.

they have a $90 bracket for the shocks on ebay that can be used for 400ex,450r,z400, and yfz 450 shocks that can fit. WHcih are the best out of these? well bang for my buck ones.
And how does the rear shock work, can I put any other shocks on my rear one because I need an upgrade.
Also what is the best combination for chain sprockets for a 250x. I think stock is 13 and 38.. What would be good for more acceleration but also have top speed?

MdotHolla,
check my first post !!! I told you I was running a 2001 Raptor rear shock on my son's 300ex, it has to be a 2001, the rest have a piggyback rez, that won't fit, very little room at the top mount. You will need to put a longer hose on to give you room to mount it to the frame, after having a shorter one ripped off in a race, I learned my lesson, ran it long enough to mount to the right side and tie up the hose to clear the chain !! A Warrior shock might also work, or a Banshee, both come with a rez and a longer hose, Don't know if they are rebound/compression adjustable like the Raptor. If you find a blown one at the scrapyard, or someone who upgraded, you can get one pretty cheap, then rebuild it and put the right length hose on to work for you. For a lot less than a Works shock, you can have a much nicer than stock set up that is more adjustable and a lot stronger.
