400ex carb

Default 400ex carb

i just put a 42 pilot jet in bike and now i notice that its leakin somewhat of a lot of fuel from the overflow i checked to see if there was any mud in the carb but i didnt see any and i pulled the needle out 2, do i need to do anything else to my carb since i put the pilot jet in it or is it just getting to much fuel thanks

it only leaks when i smash on the gas is that normal to have some gas come out of the overflow

you can try and get a rebuild kit for it that might help!

i had 2 get a hole new carb for mine couldn't figure it out just kept on leeking from the over flow i even did the rebuild kit




the carb cost 300+ from carb parts warehouse its a mikuni flat slide

if it is leaking out of the overflow, i would tap on the carb with a hammer. it sounds like the float may be sticking a bit. you may even want to take the carb and float apart and clean it. oh wait, i see you have a 00 400ex. in 01 they revised the float assembly. i would buy the new float pin/assembly.
