Default cr80 vs 660raptor

yea bro im all for 2 strokes an all but, cmon get real.

An XR600 would cream the little wimpy 80.

2 stroke or not.. its an 80. The reason you can go through the gears fast enough is because the ratios are spaced together so close LOL
(from lack of HP) Its a kids bike!

An XR600.. LOL (ok maybe for the first 50 feet before the guy on the XR can get the heavy bike rollin)

You guys kill me.The 80 -85s probaly run close to 60-65mph stock. And reachnthat speed alot quicker than a Raptor or XR600 ever thoght about. If your talking about running 1000ft or further, they would start pulling on the smaller bikes because they arent built to maintain their top speed.I weigh right at 150 and the little KX doesnt even know Im on it.Tell you the truth,it scares me togo out and get on it.I have seen the 85 beat the **** out of a Raptor and a Z400 repeatedly thru races up to 660ft.

Well considering my old CR125 would top out around 60-65, I would think a little 80 would top out at 50-55 max.
They are small kids motocross bike, with motocross gearing. You think they go 65MPH?

An XR600 would chew it up and spit it out by the end of first gear.

For the record, my old zilla beat a CR250 on PAVEMENT, and my current banshee beat a RM250 in dirt/softer dirt. (banshee had paddles, RM had knobbie though, but I smoked him badly all the way, he never gained ground)

my point is, these bikes arnt THAT fast as most people think. Sure they are whiney, and scream, but their gearing is spaced very close together.
Especially a torqueless 80 2 stroke. A big thumper 600 has far spaced, XR gearing and first gear top end is probably about the same speed as the 80s 3rd or 4th gear top speed. So, what do you think is going to win? The XR to the end of FIRST? or the 80 to the end of 3rd or 4th?

Cmon guys, this is rediculous. This is apples and oranges. Why not race a raptor against a 4 stroke XR80? "Well its lighter!! it'll smoke that raptor!!" Get real.

I think this post is just about stupid come on a Cr80 out running a 660 Raptor get real.. I know the 80 is a two stroke and the 660 is a 4 but damn a two stroke inst that powerfull... Because i have raced a modded YZ125 with my YFZ450 and i beet the YZ... So i would almost put money on it that the Cr80 will probably beet the raptor through the first couple of gears but the raptor will catch up and beet the Cr...

we clocked a modified YZ80 down a paved road at 57mph and road was sloped downhill.

Alright i give.To the guy that started this,go ahead and run the cr for slips, maybe one of the guys here that think the Raptor would beat it will loan you something to ride while the kid enjoys his new Raptor.I never said you couldnt beat him, just that his bike is capable of beating yours if you screw up any at all.As for the 80-85s being little kid bikes with close motocross gearing, thats what they are for, acceleration and quickness. The thread was about a drag race, now when we drag race,it is a set distance, not until one of the bikes run out of gears and the other can catch and pass him.The raptor is pretty impressive for tourque and riding wheelies, but acceleration and quickness they aint got,not stock anyway. The little 80 will be doing its 57 mph before the raptor can get into 3rd gear.

Sure it has acceleration and quickness. Especially compared to an 80cc kids motocross bike.

"As for the 80-85s being little kid bikes with close motocross gearing, thats what they are for, acceleration and quickness."

You are correct. BUT.. remember what that motocross gearing IS. VERY CLOSE RATIOS. Sure it will zip through those gears in a flash, but how much speed is he gaining with every gear change? Not much.

This is the reason I suspect a big thumper such as the raptor or ESPECIALLY an XR600 will just walk away from it.

The little 80 will zing zing zing through the gears, while the thumper will just run away using that torque and widely spaced gear ratios.

I have witnessed it myself. It was a KX 85 not a CR80 and it wasnt just once.A14yr old on a 85 against a 28-30yr old on a Raptor.Repeatedly the 85 beat it in 300 ft drags. The guy on the Raptor started holding his down and passing the kid after he let off.The kid started keeping his open and it wasnt until a good ways past 600 the Raptor blew by him. This is a drag race the guy was posting about not allout top end 1 mile down the road.I dont know when the last time you rode one of the little kids bikes was,but the newer ones are quick and plenty powerful enough to dump the average adult.

some of you guys must just be looking at 80cc's and saying oh man i got 660 of those i can beat that. Its not at all like that. Think of a lt80 and cr80. I know its not a fair comparison but ask youself which would win. Quad or dirtbike. Ya sure SOME of you guys could probly hang with a modded 125 or slightly modded 250. But unless the rider sucks most of you cant. I saw a LITTLE KIDS MOTORCROSS BIKE whoop a 400ex or 450r (couldnt tell it was new styling and kind of far away) and all this LITTLE 80 had was a pipe. And this was at dunes. I watched yz125's smoke A YFZ450 So bad in the dunes on a hill. Dont underestimate them. Race a guy that is your age and has been riding as many years as you have and give him a piped 125 and hell waste ya.
