clutch problem on 98 300ex
Yep, normal. I have 3 400exs and they all do it. I just make sure I am in neutral before the engine is warmed out. I tend not to be on the quad when I am starting them for the first time anyhow. I usually get them running well enough to idle then start checking tire pressure.
By the way, you should leave a small amount of slack in your cable to make sure you clutch is disengaged under all operating temperatures. I use the PEP EZ pull levers that require you to pull further to get the clutch to disengage. Even with this clutch, I still have plenty of pull to make then loose. For my girlfriend, it allows her to pull the lever in about 1/2 inch before she starts pulling again the clutch. Works better for her smaller hands.
