need more power honda rancher
i think honda has a jet kit for high-altitude riding. It's designed if you ride above a certain level, you might want to find out what that is, and if you are above it, get that kit. it might help...
but the rancher isnt very powerful anyways. It's kinda a hog sometimes compared to the bigger 500 foreman, but it's ok for what i use mine for. You could try a different muffler and jet kit, etc., but you would have to go to a big bore kit and cam for a serious upgrade, and that would mean taking part of the engine apart. not to mention reliability problems down the road because of all the extra stress on the engine parts.
otherwise you could try to find a foreman 450

Without going into the motor, jetting is the best way to gain power. A muffler and K/N is not going to do much by themselves. Add a jet kit and it will wake the Rancher up. The best muffler for a Rancher is the HMF Utlity but it is a loud pipe. Have you done the throttle cable adjustment? It has way too much play in it from the factory. I would keep the K/N. It flows a little better than the Uni but you need to use an Outerwears pre-filter over top of it to keep dust out of your engine. If you ride in any mud and water, seriously consider either sealing your pull-start up with rtv silicone or investing in one of the block-off kits. I do not recommend big bore kits for the Rancher because they do not handle them well. The Rancher will never be a speed machine but the above mods do make them more agile.
