NEW 250R??
Just putting my .02 in, the service honda 250r may be worth the price. they use a cr250r motor which is more potent version than the original trx250r motor, it's true that they are the same motor but due to possible overheating problem's due to the increased weight of the trx250r vs the cr250r honda decided to detune the trx250r motor by lowering the compression a little. Which mean's the servicehonda 250r is faster and quicker the a standard 250r, in fact that article in atv action actually said that the servicehonda 250r makes a yfz 450 seam slow, and here in maryland a new yfz 450 goes for about $7500 new. So by the time you put the money into the mod's to beat the 250r you could just buy one, and keep in mind for a few hundred buck's more you can order the new 250r ported, polished and properly jetted, which would make it even faster. Just my opinion, but for you 2 stroker guy's it sound's like a deal to me.

NEW 250R??
Hate to dispute but the article say's the engine is from a 2001 cr250r motocross bike, it seam's that service honda had alot or motors left over from a few year's ago, they were making new aluminum framed cr500r bike's by putting the cr500r motor's in the lightweight aluminum cr250r chassis, because honda never made the cr500 with an aluminum frame, which is why they had the cr250r motor's laying around. Hope this clarify's the issue a bit.
