clutch problem on 300ex

Default clutch problem on 300ex

i pull in my clutch and my bike wants to learch forward a little. i was wondering if anyone ahad any hints or tips on repairing the clutch.ive adjusted the cable every way you can and it stll does it.any advise on tearing it down would be appreciated.thanks[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

you mean than when you have the clutch lever pulled in that the bike still wants to creep forward? sounds like your clutch is not disengaging correctly. I would first take it out and ride it and punch it in 5th gear. If the engine just lugs and stays a fairly constant rpm, then your plates are probably fine, but if the rpm revs up (slipping clutch) then you'll need a rebuild.

Possibly you have warped clutch plates, that will make them creep a little cuz they will stay partly engaged. you'd need to rebuild in that case too.

but make sure you have the clutch adjusted correctly. thats sounds like the most obvious.
